Speech 2

Outline:

Introduce the skill:

  • We are always told that in order to grow we need to learn.
  • There are so many skills in life we can learn.
  • I want to teach you how to wrap a hijab.
  • A hijab is a headcover, worn by Muslim women in public or in the presence of any male outside of the immediate family.
  • To start off you would want to have three things:
    • hijab or shawl, a hijab cap, and safety pins or just the pearl head pins.
  • The process: (pictures)
    • First, you would want to tie your hair back.
    • Second, you would want to put the hijab cap on.
    • Then you would want to fold the edge of the longer side of shawl almost ⅓ of the way.
    • Then you place the shawl on the head, you would want to have it placed where one side is almost ⅔ of the length.
    • Now you would bring together the two sides underneath the jaw and use a safety pin that way the shawl stays in place.
    • Then you would take the longer side and bring it across under the chin and over to the other side to wrap it around your head once.
    • Once the longer piece has been wrapped now you would use one or two of pearl head pins or just another safety pin to secure the shawl in place.
  • Conclusion:

This is one important skill I had to learn and because sometimes I get asked how I do my hijab I chose to show you.

Thank you for your attention.
